Improve your iPod video viewing

Great technology & Great deal

The iPod video is a great product but there is one problem, the screen is too small to really enjoy a movie or TV show. It’s neat and a great idea but it doesn’t sell me enough to buy an ipod video for that purpose. When you are flying or waiting around at the airport and watching a movie there’s always going to be a privacy issue also. There is a product available out there that can change that!

Vuzix makes a product called the IP230 iWear Virtual Theater Glasses. When you wear these glasses connected to the iPod video it simulates transforming that small iPod video screen into a virtual 44″ screen viewed from 9 ft creating a sort of movie theater experience. The device connects to the iPod and draws its power via the dock connector. This will also let you watch that movie or video in private while making that flight.

Downsides? It does not work with the iPhone or iPod touch & it could drain the battery faster, although you could get an optional USB pass-through for charging while watching.

There is also a great deal on it right now with a 65% discount off the retail price. Check out the deal on the “Deal of the day” page.

    … another great ipod accessory.
A must have extra gadget for ipod owners. No more small screen viewing on ipod view screen.

I’m seeing more and more of these types of glasses. I have an iPod video and I don’t use it for videos because the screen is too small.

I wonder what it looks like with one of these glasses?
