To marked the 50th anniversary since the first moon landing, NASA decided to renovate and restore the exact control room the people used back in 1969.
“The eagle has landed” were the very first words that were delivered to this control room, back to all the engineers working on the project when Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin set foot on the moon.
Adam Graves, the historic preservation chief mentions how difficult it was to bring back some of the things from the past. But the team worked hard to even get the little details like the stationary and ash trays. The control room is open for tourists to visit.
