How much the Apollo program actually cost

Neil Armstrong got the achievement to land on the moon 50 years ago and it still remains the biggest achievement of mankind. But regretfully, it wasn’t exactly cheap.

The Saturn V Rocket that propelled the astronauts to space back in 1969 costed around $375 million dollars and the entire cost of Apollo mission was $25.4 billion. Today in this money, it adds up to about $146 billion.

In May, President Trump added $1.6 billion to the budget so the process of landing again on moon in 2024 can be accelerated. We hope to see this money carry the astronauts to Mars as well.
