Nvidia Geforce Might Surprise by Launching These Two Graphics Cards in September!

New rumors have just emerged that Nvidia might be gearing up to launch its next-generation RTX 3000 series graphics cards in September this year. In this regard, GeForce RTX 3080 is already expected to go on sale; while the company is thinking of launching RTX 3090 as well unexpectedly.

The rumors initially came from Igor’s Lab based on a timetable provided by its reliable sources. According to them, Nvidia would start mass production of its next-generation GPUs in August and reveal them in September 2020. By that time, the media event would also include the first official benchmarks.

This update was further reported by WccfTech. According to them, this timetable shows that Nvidia could show off the GPUs a bit earlier at a public event before conducting any media event. They might reveal the GPUs possibly at Gamescom 2020 which would be going digital-only this year.

While everyone has been expecting that the company would launch RTX 3080 around that time, one thing that has been mentioned in the WccfTech report is that RTX 3090 might also launch at the same time.

Although few rumors about RTX 3090 also emerged in the past, if Nvidia actually releases the GPU, it would be a surprise for all. This is because Nvidia hasn’t released an x90 chip since the release of GTX 690 back in 2012. Before that, an x90 GPU used to be a dual-chip card – and that’s something Nvidia hasn’t manufactured since it the Titan Z in 2014.

Instead, Nvidia’s flagship consumer cards usually belong to the Ti series, like the RTX 2080 Ti. That’s why, it’s possible that the previous rumors were either false, or they were mistakenly talking about the RTX 3080 Ti if it’s not the RTX 3090.

However, the persistence of RTX 3090 rumors gives rise to some other questions. Like will it be a step ahead of the RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, or will it simply replace it? Also, would the RTX 3090 be another dual-chip GPU by Nvidia?

WccfTech actually has an interesting logic behind why Nvidia may be embracing the x90. Since both AMD and Intel would be releasing ‘9’ series enthusiast products like the Ryzen 9 and Core i9 respectively, this could be the reason Nvidia aligning its products as well.

If the consumers start associating products with a ‘9’ in their names with high-performance, enthusiasm, components, then these rumors could be believed.
