Sony just released the final design and exclusive games of its most-awaited next-generation PS5 console. The live stream of the PS5 event was telecasted this Thursday at CNN Underscored.
During the live streaming, Sony revealed two versions of PS5; a standard version, and a ‘Digital Edition’. The Digital Edition comes with a dedicated disc drive of the console. Without the disc drive, the PS5 seems symmetrical.
The PS5 is a sleek white console finished with black trim. It looks to be thinner than the Xbox Series X. The accessories include headphones, a camera, and a media remote control. However, its price is still a mystery.
Sony also showed some exclusive games available in the PS5 that already exist on PS4. These included ‘Grand Theft Auto V’, ‘Hitman 3’, and ‘NBA 2K21.’
Some of the highlights are here:
‘Spider-Man: Miles Morales’
Spider-Man is already available on PS4 as an exclusive game. So, everyone was expecting it to be available on the PS5 as well. In the PS5 event, Sony confirmed that “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” will be an exclusive game on the PS5.
It’s a sequel to the 2018 title featuring the famous character from the animated film ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse’, Miles Morales.
The game has been built on its previous title. Miles was briefly introduced at the end of the 2018 game, while Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man, can be heard in the new trailer. Sony confirmed that the game will launch on the PS5 in the upcoming holiday season.
Gran Turismo 7′
The popular car racing game “Gran Turismo” will also be available on the PS5. Sony hasn’t yet announced the release date of the new title, “Gran Turismo 7”, yet but it has already been featured in the campaign mode. In the campaign mode, the players can earn and customize new cars by winning races.
The Japanese franchise, Polyphony Digital, has been a loyal part of the Sony ecosystem. In the past, they launched “Gran Turismo 6” in 2013 for the PS3, while “Gran Turismo Sport” was installed on the PS4 in 2017.
Resident Evil 8 Village
Another highly-anticipated title, “Resident Evil 8”, will also be available on the next-generation PS5 console; making it the successful horror series in 2021.
It’s a sequel to the survival version, “Resident Evil 7”, with a different setting than the previous version. The backdrop of the game appears gray and snowy, taken over by the werewolf-esque monsters.
The developers already launched the “Resident Evil 3” remake earlier in April. The producer of the game, Peter Fabiano, commented that the overwhelming response of the fans and their demand for making a remake shows that the characters, settings, and overall themes and thrills of the series keep them anticipated to ask for more.
Horizon Forbidden West
The new “Horizon Forbidden West” is the sequel to the famous open-world game set “Horizon Zero Dawn,”. The latter was so popular that over 10 million copies were sold globally.
In “Forbidden West,” a brave young lady returns as the protagonist to explore the new frontier of America. During her journey, she comes across cyborg-like animals and plenty of nature.
Sony hasn’t yet announced its release date but the gamers can expect similar popularity like the previous version.
